HS Action through Thanksgiving Weekend

AT&T Metroplex HS Hockey League (Dallas)

With Thanksgiving coming up next week, i'm going to post the upcoming HS Schedules for the D/FW and Houston areas between now and Thanksgiving weekend. As we are nearing a 3rd into the HS Season in the D/FW Area, the Allen Eagles are a perfect 7-0-0 record as the Eagles look to get back after a surprise elinmation in the League Quarterfinals last season. Just below them are Southlake Carroll, Coppell and Frisco which are in a 3 way tie with 10 points each.

With a busy schedule just before the Thanksgiving holiday, most teams will play twice between now and Thanksgiving. Allen will be looking to keep it's unbeaten record going with games against Plano Senior, Frisco and Coppell before the Holiday break.

Some of the other big matchups include Frisco and Highland Park as both teams will be fighting for playoffs spots for the entire season and on November 24, it's a rematch of the League Championship game between the Flower Mound Jaguars and Southlake Carroll Dragons.

Interscholastic Hockey League (Houston)

In Houston, most of the teams have played 4 games so far this season Fair/Creek is leading the North while in the Southern part of the area, it's the Cinco Ranch Cougars at 3-0-1 with Houston area power house Clearlake just a point back in 2nd place.

The league's early season tournament was done the weekend before Halloween as the Clear Brook/Creek/Springs team won the 5th annunal Suaun Mcintosh Memorial High School Tournament in the Houston area just as the season was getting underway.

As for indvindual players, Cam Bisg of Seven Lakes leads the way in scoring in Houston with 11 points (6G 5A) in just 3 games played. Just below him are Austin Fitzgerald with 9 points (5G 4A) while Freshman Travis Val of Clear Lake has 8 points and is expected to be a leading contender for new comer of the year in the ISHL down in the Houston Area.

Among goaies, Dan Smiley from the Woodlands is leading with a goaltender with a GAA of just 0.50 GAA and having a .965 SV%. This catorgey has no one even close to Smiley with a GAA of a 1.00 GAA, but has a SV% of just .846 SV% whose in 2nd place in the Houston Area.

This is the only week leading up to Thanksgiving, they will be no games next week as the league takes off for Thanksgiving. The ISHL gets back in action coming up on December 4.
