NCAA Standings as of 1/11

After a few weeks off due to the Christmas Break and various Holiday Tournaments throughout the country and the WJC where numerous players helped win the Gold in Saskatchewan recently. College Hockey Returned to Conference Play this week as we still have 2 months to go in the regular season as the races for the Conference Seeding and building up resumes for a shot at the NCAA Frozen Four which will be in Detroit, Michigan coming up in April.

In the Atlantic Hockey Conference, it's most likely going to be a three horse race as Mercyhurst, RIT and the Air Force Academy have a big gap over the rest of the Conference as they among the furthest into the Conference Play.

The CCHA has defending champions Miami of Ohio and Ferris State tied for 1st with Michigan State Spartans just one point back in 3rd place. Also in 4th is the University of Alaska as they look to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a long time. On the other end of the CCHA is Michigan after a pair of wins over Northern Michigan has them up to 7th place. Can the Wolverines recover from a bad start with the young group of players?

In the ECAC, Quinnipiac may have the best shot in years of the ECAC producing a national champions as they are just 1 point of Union for first place but have played 4 more Conference Games then Union. Elsewhere, Colgate will return to the ice after a long break this weekend will return with road games to Clarkson and St. Law this weekend.

New Hampshire leads Hockey East with a 4 point gap over a gap from 2nd through 5th which Maine, Boston College, U-Mass and UMass-Lowell as we at the halfway point of Conference Play in the Hockey East Conference. Also can Defending National Champion Boston University comeback from a bad start who are currently in 7th place with just 10 points.

Finally in the WCHA, University of Denver is leading with Minnesota-Duluth has been on a roll by winning 4 of their last 5 including against Conference Leading University of Denver. Also for Minnesota, at 7th place and sitting at 6-7-1 in Conference Play with the likes of North Dakota and St. Cloud State coming up in the next couple of weeks.
