Update on Texas Rivals

With the poll question about the Dallas Stars finishing in the Pacific Division about to expire, the new poll question i'm going to put up is about the 3 AHL Team in the Lone Star State. It's going to be the about which of the 3 teams will eventually win the Lone Star Face Off.

As you know, the newly created rivalry was created after the Texas Stars came into the league in addition with the creative minds from the Houston Aeros who had a strong season last year and the San Antonio Rampage who finished last in the West Division last season.

So far this season in the AHL, the Texas Stars and San Antonio Rampage currently control the 1st and 2nd spots out west with some impressive performance's against each other and the rest of the league. Houston has been off to a slower start, but a strong SO Win over the Hamilton Bulldogs last night have put them in 3rd place out west.

The top of the west is very tight with the Texas teams controlling the top 3 spots at the moment and being separated by just 2 points. Below them in the West Division. Rockford and Peoria are in 4th and 5th place at 11 and 10 points. Bringing up the rear is the Chicago Wolves who have made a lot of changes recently which include the signing of 47 year old forward Chris Cheilos and a new coaching staff put in recently.

Upcoming games in the Lone Star Faceoff

10/30: Texas Stars VS. San Antonio Rampage 7:00 PM

11/1: Houston Aeros VS. Texas Stars 5:00 PM

11/7: San Antonio Rampage VS. Houston Aeros 7:35 PM

11/15: Texas Stars VS. San Antonio Rampage 3:00 PM

Texas Brahmas VS. Allen Americans

In addition to the Lone Star Faceoff, the newest rivalry in the Central Hockey League will play against each other for the very first time ever on Saturday night at the NYTEX Sports Center in North Richland Hills, for the Brahmas, it's been a slow start so far with a 1-2-1 record after a very tough first 4 games against the Colorado Eagles and the Mississippi Riverkings.

Both the Eagles and Riverkings are looking to play a big factor in the Northern Conference this season.

For the Americans, a great 4-0 start has surprised a lot of experts as the early season road trip continues as the last minute work to the rink at the Allen Event Center is about to be completed for their first ever home game coming up on November 7 against the Corpus Christi Icerayz. So far for Allen, a pair of wins against the Arizona Sundogs on opening weekend, followed by a weekend set in Laredo and Bossier-Shreveport have gotten the team to 3rd place in the South so far.

After the game on Saturday at NYTEX, the Allen Americans will host the Brahmas for the first time at the Allen Event Center on November 11. Saturday's matchup will be the first of 9 throughout the regular season.

As of right now, they has been no official name for the Brahmas VS. Americans rivalry as of yet. However, If the teams come up with a name, I will post it here.
