It might have been Easter yesterday, but still a very busy schedule as we get to the end of the regular season in the NHL & AHL and the Juniors as the 2nd Round of the Memorial Cup Playoffs march on and we already have our first team that has advanced to the NAHL Divisional Finals as the Wenatchee Wild finished off the Kenai River Brown Bears in pretty short order as the Robertson Cup Hosts will look to win the team's first ever championship on home ice this season.
In the Central Hockey League, things have turned for the worst for the 2 D/FW Teams as the Texas Brahmas and Allen Americans have hit most roadblocks as the Odessa Jackalopes & Laredo Bucks have turned up the pressure as both teams are now within a game of advancing to the CHL Southern Conference Finals.
For the Northern Conference, the Rapid City Rush & Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will be facing off for the Northern Conference Title and a spot in the League Ray Morion Presidents Cup Championship at the end of April and the beginning of May. Both Rapid City & Bossier-Shreveport are coming off sweeps while the 2 Southern Conference Semifinals have been bruising matchups with back and fourth games all the way through. Could this help give the Northern Conference Champions a boost as both teams getting a rest right now? We will find out starting on April 10.
Yesterday, Philadelphia helped their Stanley Cup Playoff Hopes with a big win over the Detroit Red Wings. Also the Colorado Avalanche took a huge step towards clinching one of the final playoff births in the West with a big OT Win against San Jose and Chicago has clinched the Central Division with a win over Calgary yesterday. Also it was made official as the Dallas Stars were officially eliminated from playoff contention with the results yesterday.
