Last night in Las Vegas was the Awards as the Players dressed up in their best and for once they were enjoying the best of the 2009-2010 season as the leagues top players won the different awards from Ryan Miller winning his first Vezina, Tampa Bay's Martin St. Louis winning the Lady Byng where he beat out the Dallas Stars forward Brad Richards.
And former Stars Head Coach Dave Tippett won the Jack Adams for being the top coach as he defined all expectations with a Phoenix team that had a shaky future and possibly looking at relocation.
Hopefully by finishing 4th in the Conference and nearly upsetting Detroit in the opening round, hopefully he can lead the Coyotes into a new era as their ownership situation seems to be stabilizing some what.
Perhaps the biggest shock of the night was Vancouver's Henrik Sedin as he upset both Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby for the Hart Trophy which is the league MVP during the regular season.
In all it's a great night from the league's best which included performances and celebrity appearances throughout the night in Las Vegas as this puts an official close to the 2009-2010 season. Now we begin the preps for the 2010-2011 season as the NHL Draft is coming on Friday and Saturday as we welcome the stars of tomorrow to the league.
