TXA 21 joins the Dallas Stars Television Team

After a successful stint with MY 27 for nearly the last decade, MY 27 is out of televising the Stars Games and TXA 21 is in as they started doing Texas Rangers games as well when the new season started.

The plan is televise games that would be on FSN Plus that not all Cable and Satellite Customers get when looking to watch Stars Games, especially early on in the season when FSN Southwest is busy televising College Football on Saturday's and some HS Games as well.

It will be a four year deal and all games will be on HD.

From the Dallas Stars Website:

TXA 21 has entered into a four year contract with the Dallas Stars to broadcast 15 regular season games per season, plus a few playoff games as well, beginning in the 2010-2011 season. All of the telecasts will be in High Definition (HD).

Dallas Stars will broadcasts will air primarily on Saturday Nights on TXA 21 and will include 30 minute pre game and post game coverage. The games to be aired on TXA 21 for 2010-2011 will be announced on a later date.

"The Stars are a terrific addition to TXA 21's Sports Lineup," said CBS 11 and TXA 21 President and GM Gary Schneider. "They brought the thrill of a Stanley Cup to North Texas and play an exciting brand of hockey. We're looking forward to bringing that excitement to the fans and viewers with Saturday Night Stars Games."

"The Dallas Stars are excited to enter into this agreement with TXA 21," commented Team President Jeff Cogen. "It is very important for us to maintain a strong over-the-air television presence for our fans and TXA 21 is the preeminent sports carrier in our market."

Forming the broadcast for the 15th consecutive season will be Ralph Strangis and Darryl Reaugh. Strangis begins his 21st season as a Stars Broadcaster while Darryl Reaugh will serve his 15th season as the Stars Color Analyst.
