Dallas Stars Ice Breaker on Saturday

Here's a look at what to expect for Dallas Stars fans heading to the Dallas Galleria on Saturday's for the team's annual Ice Breaker which has acted as the team's kick off event since the NHL Lockout ended in the Summer of 2005. The team didn't have it last year because of the compressed schedule due to the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, but it's back and will have more then ever this year.

Press Release from the Dallas Stars Website

It's that time of year again - September is right around the corner. That means Labor Day, school's back in session and best of all, hockey training camp begins again.

Dallas Stars training camp is only a few weeks away with the players heading to Prince Edward Island on September 17 for the first few days of practice. But before training camp gets going, it is time for the first official event with your 2010-2011 Dallas Stars team and "Break the Ice" on a new season.

After a one year hiatus, the 2010 Dallas Stars Ice Breaker presented by EA Sports will take place on Saturday, September 11 at Galleria Dallas and features Dallas Stars Players Signing autographs from 11 AM to 1 PM (also on hand will be the Dallas Stars Ice Girls presented by Planet Tan/Palm Beach Tan).

The Stars Partners for the Ice Breaker are the Cumulus Radio Group (Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket, I93, 99.5 The Wolf, KLIF 570) and TXA 21. The Ticket will broadcast live from the event from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Ice Breaker will take place at the center of the Galleria near the ice rink, with autograph locations at every level.

Fans in attendance can register to win an autograph Stars jersey right off the back of one of the players at the Ice Breaker. Jerseys will be given away at the end of the afternoon and fans not be present during actual drawings to win. All winners names will also be posted on http://stars.nhl.com

Fans can skate with the Dallas Stars Ice Girls on the Galleria Ice as well as meet some of them at autograph lines (having pictures taken with the Girls is welcome). EA Sports will also have a gaming area at the Ice Breaker where fans can check out the brand new NHL 11 on the PS3 and NHL Slapshot on the Wii.

"We're so excited to get back on the ice this season," said Stars Exc. VP Geoff Moore." The Dallas Stars Ice Breaker is a great way to get things started. We are delighted to be back at the Galleria Dallas for the event, with support from the Cumulus Radio Group. It should be a lot of fun."

So make plans to be at the Galleria Dallas on September 11 and help break the ice on a Dallas Stars Season!
