The Dallas Stars are almost complete when it comes down to who will be on the opening night roster which will be coming up on October 3 against the Nashville Predators.
Back on September 25, the Dallas Stars assgined 10 players to the A.H.L. Texas Stars including goalie Matt Climie and Ivan Vishnevskiy who did see some action late last season and is going to be with 8 other players who were sent to the American Hockey League where they will start the season on October 2 against the San Antonio Rampage. One player, which is center Warren Peters is being put on the Injured Reserve list with a Fractured Orbital Bone.
With the Dallas Stars down to 25 players left on the preseason roster, they need to at least make 2 more cuts before Saturday's opener against Nashville. One player that's expected to make the Dallas Stars roster is Jamie Benn who's been playing very impressively in the preseason games and has been working hard in practice.
The other young guy that's been impressing under the radar has been Luke Gazdic who may be have a shot of getting the last forward position for the Dallas Stars, if he doesn't make the team, he's expected to be contribute to the Texas Stars and could be one of the first guys to call up in the case of major injury or suspension during the season.
Be sure to look for the final roster for the Dallas Stars, Texas Stars, the San Antonio Rampage and the Houston Aeros as the N.H.L. and A.H.L. Regular Seasons get underway this week.
