OKC Barons Beat Writer Ryan Aber on the Pipeline Show

Back on Tuesday Night, Kevin Aber who will be the Oklahoma City Barons Beat Writer for the Daily Oklahoman Newspaper was on the Pipeline Show to talk about the build up for the Oklahoma City Barons first season in the American Hockey League which starts in October.

Some of the top topics include the building buzz that the team is starting to create in OKC which have included a NHL Draft Party, strong Season Ticket Sales and fans getting team shirts and hats around the area to start getting fans ready for the team's first season

Also not much news regrading things like who will be the Team's GM & Head Coach.

One of the most interesting questions as well was about the rivalry with the 3 Texas Teams. Ryan mentioned that the Texas Stars would be the biggest rivals as with the rivals with Texas VS. Oklahoma/Oklahoma State Football will translate to the sport of hockey in the AHL.

It's also important to get a coach that fans can get to know and maybe have a shot of getting on a NHL Staff in the near future. Expect Aber to be a regular on the Pipeline Show as the new season starts to get closer, because the Barons will be the AHL Affliate of the Edmonton Oilers.

Here's the link to the episode. Click on the July 6 episode and then select "Oklahoma City Barons Update" to listen to the interview.

Also included was a brief mention of Seth Jones' name because Everett Silvertips GM Doug Soetart was on the show. He mentioned near the end of the interview that he would most likely be with the USNTDP for the next 2 seasons that would take him to his draft Year in 2012.
